School-Wide Volunteer Opportunities

  • Classroom Volunteer- The Classroom Volunteer provides the opportunity to be in the classroom and help with a variety of classroom activities, such as tutoring individual students, grading papers, and preparing instructional materials, as needed by the teacher. Your commitment is flexible, from one hour weekly to once a month. Schedules are arranged to suit the needs of the volunteer as well as the teacher.
 
  • Classroom Special Events Volunteer- The Classroom Special Events Volunteer provides support for special occasions throughout the school year. Your commitment is flexible and arranged with the teacher.
 
  • Book Orders- Works with classroom teacher preparing and organizing Scholastic book orders. This can be done at home. Time commitment varies depending on how many orders are made throughout the year.
 
  • Field Trip- Chaperone classroom field trips. Usually one or two field trips a year.
 
  • Classroom Volunteer, Classroom Special Events Volunteer, Book Orders and Field Trip volunteer information is given to the teacher at the beginning of the school year.
 
  • Hearing Screening- Assist students to and from the testing area. Two days in the fall.
 
  • Vision Screening- Assist students to and from the testing area. Two days in the winter.
 
  • Picture Day- escort classes to photographer, comb hair and ready students for their picture. One day usually in October.
 
  • Library Support- provides assistance to the library media tech staff with tasks such as shelving of books and putting up bulletin boards. Time commitment is flexible, from an hour once a week to the occasional hour here and there.
 
  • Office Help/Workroom- help office staff with the straightening of work room, filling shelves with copy paper and various other tasks as needed. Time commitment is flexible, from an hour once a week to the occasional hour here and there.
 
  • Flexible- For those not able to commit to a certain hour or day or those who could help out if needed. We’ll call and see if you’re available. 
 
  • Read Naturally- work one-on-one with students using a specialized reading program. Training included! Time commitment is 1-2 hours a week on a regular basis. The students need the extra reading help on a consistent basis.
